Add to Your Toolkit
HART to HART: Connections (Parent-Child Edition) is a powerful card game filled with 75 deep and meaningful questions designed to help parents and children (ages 10+) build stronger bonds.
These questions aren’t just fun—they’re purposeful. They explore emotions, boundaries, family dynamics, personal values, and hard-to-ask topics in a way that makes it easier for your child to open up.
Whether you play during dinner, on a road trip, or during dedicated family time, this deck helps you connect, communicate, and grow—one honest conversation at a time.

Connections (Parent-Child Edition) is more than a card game—it’s a therapeutic tool that supports meaningful parent-child communication and emotional development. With 75 intentional, thought-provoking questions, this deck invites curiosity and encourages deeper conversations around emotions, boundaries, values, and family dynamics—areas that are often difficult to explore in a clinical setting.
For therapists, this resource can serve as a bridge between session work and real-life family interaction. It provides a structured yet playful way to:
-Promote emotional expression and emotional intelligence
-Strengthen parent-child attunement and bonding
-Foster trust and open dialogue within the family system
-Explore challenging or avoided topics in a safe, guided format
-Support family therapy, child therapy, and parenting skill-building
-Encourage generalization of therapeutic skills outside the session (e.g., using questions at home, during meals, or on car rides)Whether introduced in session or recommended as homework to continue connection at home, HART to HART empowers families to grow together through gentle, honest conversation—making it a valuable addition to any therapist’s toolkit.

A therapist should use this card deck in their toolkit because it turns emotional exploration into a natural, approachable interaction, helping parents and children open up without pressure. Rather than relying solely on traditional talk therapy, these thoughtful prompts create safe space for reflection, curiosity, and meaningful conversation, making it easier for families to explore feelings, boundaries, values, and connection. This tool strengthens communication and bonding in session while also empowering families to continue the work at home, supporting lasting emotional growth beyond the therapy room.
